Window-borders / title bar vanishes frequently

another possibility is, as you certainly use xfwm4:
$>xfwm4 --replace &
and you don't have to restart. But if you use several desktops, you have 
set them again:
Anwendungsmenü->Einstellungen->Arbeitsflächen.
