I believe you selected the option "Navigational desktop" in the
Desktop tab of the settings dialog in 4.6.2.
When you switch versions, 4.6.4 leaves the 4.6.2 configuration alone
and starts a new configuration for 4.6.4 based on defaults. In the
default configuration "Navigational Desktop" (called "Navigate" in
4.6.4) is off.
I believe all you have to do is enter the "personal preferences" and
select the option "Navigate" in the Desktop tab.

I need a bit more information on this. When you try to open a folder
that does not exist, rodent will send you to the rodent "root" which
is the location where the root file system, the home directory, and
installed plugins are shown. In 4.6.4 there is only one plugin,
namely, "Mount Point". Try it. Do a "rodent alskdjflaskjflasfjsdlfk"
and see that you get the same output.

My guess is that the folder in question has some utf-8 or iso-8859
special characters, like vocals with accents or an n with a tilde. ¿Is
that so? ¿What is the output of "printenv |grep LANG" in the
terminal? This issue may require a fix...
