I hope that doesn't matterm I suffer from the same issues and couldn't
determine any inconvenience. I guess it's because I applied one generic
xfce-dev-tools bugreport to use different LT_INIT stuff instead of the
xfce stuff.

Seems like the ubuntu 10.10 ltmain.sh is not suitable for many systems,
including my Debian. Did revert that (well, I can't use git, so it's
another new commit)
Sorry for the inconvenience, I will during the next days also revert to
using plain Xfce autotool stuff which copies the INSTALL file and the
ltmain.sh and works smoothly on all systems.
