Volume management in GVfs doesn't work because it depends on
gnome-disk-utility which depends on udev AFAIR. Also,
thunar and thunar-volman heavily rely on (g)udev for auto-mounting and
things like that.
I don't know how Linux-specific ConsoleKit and PolicyKit are, but all
those new frameworks that replace HAL are possible candidates which
break Xfce on BSDs.
