Hi,
I'm running Xfce that comes with Ubuntu 10.10.
My laptop has 1680x1050 LCD (LVDS1) resolution and my LCD TV (VGA1) has
1920x1080.
I'm trying to have the same output on both displays, but it does not
work as expected. It appears that the Xfce desktop is not completely
seen on LVDS1, but is complete on VGA1. The bottom panel is seen only
partially, also the right part of the desktop is missing. I would
suspect that the amount of pixels missing is, difference between LVDS1
and VGA1 resolutions..
Here are the xrandr lines used in ~/.xprofile that give me correct
resolution but bad size:
xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto
xrandr --output VGA1 --auto
Similar can be set using grandr tool also.
Has anyone seen this ?
If I don't use ~/.xprofile settings then both LVDS1 and VGA1 have
resolution 1024x768, blurry output, but Xfce desktop is complete on both
displays.
Here is output from xrandr:

Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset

I'm also attaching Xorg.0.log when both displays are connected and
activated. With automatic detection I get gdm login screen in 1024x768
resolution on both displays.
PS. No additional X11 configuration has been added then from Ubuntu
10.10 stock. Also no xorg.conf is present, X sets things automatically.
Best regards,
Hinko
