Hello guys.

I have news. A new filemanager called Rodent is now available (the name
comes from Francois le Clainche's "Rodent" svg icon theme). This
filemanager aims to be fast by harnessing the multithreading capabilities
of new multicore hardware.

Although Rodent aims to be easy to use, it is definitely *not* a file
manager for "dummies". The keyboard, for example, is a fully functional
console terminal (printer style) which manages background processes via
threads. Just type a command and see what I mean. Emphasis is on ease of
use for the advanced user, not the computer illiterate.

The svn repository is hosted at http://svn.foo-projects.org/, for which I
must thank Auke Kok for the excellent work he has shown keeping the system
up and running. I should also should thank Intel Corp. for providing me
with the first multicore computer to start the migration to
multithreading.

But beware: Rodent is distributed as is, in the hope that it will be as
useful to you as it is to me, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, such as the GPL
license explains.

So, enjoy.

Alpha release is limited to source tarballs (beta will come with Debian 32
and 64 bit binaries) for which you will need a full set of development
tools. Development tools are standard in Gentoo Linux, but are add ons on
distributions such as Ubuntu, Suse or Redhat.
