GnomeVFS Support in XFCE.

Hello,

I'm mailing the list because I haven't been able to figure this one out.
Hopefully someone here knows the answer.

When Xubuntu is started, the GnomeVFS backend is also started, and GNOME
programs list all of the mountable partitions in the file chooser.

When the same is tried under stock Debian running XFCE, GnomeVFS is not
running. Starting it manually does nothing, insofar as having GNOME
programs using GnomeVFS.

I noticed that gnome-settings-daemon sets the following XSetting property:

   Gtk/FileChooserBackend

Does anyone know if Ubuntu patches xfce somehow to achieve the same
effect? I haven't been able to find it. Or is there a better way of
doing what I suggest?

Thanks,
--Pat
