Moving from ~/.config

Could I make a suggestion about moving from the ~/.config dir to perhaps
using an ~/.xfce4 dir or somesuch?

I see other apps using this dir and when I need to do any sort of upgrade
or fault finding I usually need to mv this folder to start afresh, but
this affects other apps that use it too.

Don't know how you feel about this but it would make finding config files
much easier. What do you think?
