XFCE 4, ESS 1969 soundcard. Gnome-alsamixer correctly identifies the card, as does lspci, and the correct kernel module is loaded; but there is no sound. The most obvious cause is that something is turned off somewhere. But where to look? I cannot find a volume control. TIA Lisi
