Basic features of XFCE

Hi,

There is a tour of Xfce 4.6 features available[1]. You can also have a
look at what the latest Xubuntu live CD looks like. Then there is also
a list a suggested applications[2] on our wiki.

Yes, xfce4-screenshooter[3]. You will find all applications, plugins
under our archive[4].

You can use xfwm4 and enable the compositor (settings > window manager
tweaks > compositor > check enable compositor).

"Cool stuff" makes me think of games, but I don't know any off-head.
