KDE apps' tray icons are not showing on system tray

KDE used to have its own non-standard system tray protocol, maybe the
apps that you are using do not use the EWMH standard?

You may want to try to build xfwm4 with "--enable-kde-systray", that
will make xfwm4 act like a proxy for KDE systray.
