Slow resizing of Terminal?

I have just reinstalled my laptop and installed XFCE there as well.  
But I have a problem on my laptop that I don't have on my workstation  
computer. When I resize Terminal, it takes a couple of sec. Resizing  
the windows of other application works as it should but not Terminal.  
What am I missing?
