System tray and KDE apps?

Did you start any other application that might have started a system 
tray, and then killed it?  Apparently our tray doesn't work so well when 
someone else takes over tray duties and then gives it up.

Otherwise, not sure...  the panel maintainers are a bit MIA at present, 
so not sure who might be able to help you.
