moving menu in panel crashes panel

I am trying to duplicate on second system, but I don't have xfce4-menu. I 
found it.

Please consider committing this patch:

But once I got that installed I could move it around fine and no core 
dump.

I was running this in a Xnest and used DISPLAY environment variable so I 
could run multiple xfce4-panel processes.
