Just curious: why do you use g_object_new instead of
gtk_status_icon_new_from_icon_name?

I don’t know where to put a possible report. How do Gaim and others handle this?
Their tray icons have my preferred size. Yes, they don’t scale, but who resizes
his panel all day long?
