automount question

"tried to install it but i didn't succeed...HAL is getting me mad." is
what I read.

So I told them what it took for me to make it work.  He wants the same thing
we all wanted; working xfce4.4 desktop icons.  Those two patches makes it work
for me (Optical drives that can write do not crash; only read-only drives, so
if your drive is a burner it will work without patches).  It took me
two weeks to learn
that the patches are needed (the dbus is needed for dbus 1.0.2 to work
with hal 0.5.8.1).
Now this is in the mailing list and should be archived for everybody
in the future who
needs this help.  If you don't need it, I'm happy for you.  For you to
decide nobody else
needs it seems a bit heavy-handed, but if it burns you up that much
just take me off
the mailing list.
