How to clean up "Other" menu?

Hi.

I wonder how I can clean up the "Other" default menu which ATM contains dozens
of entries which have been gone a long time ago. The corresponding .desktop
files exist nowhere on my system and running "update-menus" only results in
nuking my desktop context menu. (Hail the backup.)

Regards, Mathias
