Orage: notifications?

I assume you are using Xfce 4.4 (with Orage 4.4)?
Do you see any messages from Orage?
Either in the terminal, if you started it manually
(recommended in this situation to better see messages)
or in
~/.xsession-errors
if you started Orage as part of the Xfce start.
