hello. i typed an "intrdocue myself" sort of text, but it became
lengthy, so i removed and appended it to the bottom. read if you wish,
but it contains to inquiry.

THIS USER's INQUIRY:
How can i get (or are there XFCE-versions of...)
0.) Forgive me i don't remember the exact name, but "Window Selector
Button", as in the Gnome Panel, or KDE panel which, when clicked shows
a "pop-up" selector list of all open windows, from all "workspaces".
it would seem to go hand-in-hand w/ the "desktop-pager", or the
"taskbar", but it is neither as it represents shortcuts directly to
each app. [my] KDE version separates each app by "desktop". not sure
if the GNOME does it like that-- but you get the idea. presently, all
i see for XFCE is the ability to select from the visible apps in the
"XFCE taskbar" (depending upon the settings, but by default) for that
particular "desktop"-- and in order to quickly view my other open
apps, i need to click through the "desktop pager" to find them. i
realize i can choose the option to see ALL open windows displayed from
"all desktops" at once, but i've tried this-- it works well, but it
seems to run out of room, and those that didn't fit are simply not
accessible. (i could be wrong about that inaccessible part [i can at
least use Alt+Tab]) but what i really want is the Window Selector
Button.

1.) "Klipper" to run "automatically" on "desktop launch" (i.e. logging
into a session)

2.) "Kerry-Beagle" to run in the system-tray upon launch

Bonus.) Rainlendar to run automatically. ;)

thank you for reading. sorry so wordy, but i wanted to make sure you
knew what i meant in #0.
i promise not to clog up the list. beyond these few "setup" issues, i
probably won't send mail at all.

Thank you!

P.S.

THIS USER'S Self-INTRODUCTION: (skip to inquiry if you wish)
i have a lot of questions about XFCE, but i'll start off w/ the few i
can think of which seem to be most important to my enjoyment of using
it (over KDE and GNOME).
Having installed FC5 back in May of 06, i've had played around w/ XFCE
quite a few times. once, even deciding that i was going to commit to
using it full time-- but there has always been some bit of
"inconvenience-for-lack-of-knowing" associated with the efficient
completion of any-given-project. i'm getting better at it, however.

i realized one dynamic upon this particular "trial" of xfce which is
probably going to be "THE thing" that makes me stay, henceforth. I had
been "bothered by" the perceived difference in "screen real-estate"
between WinXP and KDE. though i had my settings on 1280x1024, i still
felt like i could "see more" in XP. it didn't make sense. i even went
as far to use "kruler" to measure the font-size of Firefox's menu-bar,
against Firefox in WinE... and then it hit me-- it's the
X-Window-manager's "Theme". KDE's fonts are larger! So, aware of this
particular element-- it's the first thing i noticed upon loading XFCE
this time around. i realized that XFCE has the "right" layout-- it's
already there for me and i'm not going ot have to play around and
customize the settings. (THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!). i always knew there
was "something" that seemed nicer about the general environment, but i
never realized that's what it was-- now it seems obvious.
