xfmedia can not play mp3

debian sid,  xfmedia 0.9.1
libxine1                         1.1.7-2

i found xfmedia canot play mp3, it says:

Unable to play file.

Xfmedia was unable to play the selected file.  Be sure that the file exists
and that you have permission to access it.

the file is there and with 777 permissions. what is wrong?
