Both of you are correct, Xarchiver supports more archive types then
squeeze, and it supports password-protected archives. Which squeeze at
this moment does not.

At this moment, squeeze takes advantage of thunar-vfs, and uses it to
retrieve data from the mime-database. Also, opening files which reside
inside the archive is now done with the help of d-bus and thunar.
