"alternate" would suffice, no? (my apologies for rehashing old-- but i
was amused.)

BTW-- in retrospect, i realize what was meant by "non-index mouse
button". also in retrospect-- i'm terribly sorry about my ADD (it
looks like i wrote a book on that first reply!! [feb 15 & 16])

nevertheless, thanks to the feedback i received that day, i have been
using XFCE 99% of the time and this is why i come to you today,
disappointed-- i think i broke it! (but i don't know how or why?)

i have the Task-Bar at the top + my "auto-start" items, such as
KNotes, Klipper, but the "XFCE Menu" (w/ launchers and clock, etc.)
never comes up.

using beagle, (also a taskbar auto-start item though i must always
manually start the daemon) i searched for terminal, then launched
seamonkey so i could send this mail-- but other than that i'm stuck. i
can't even "log out" (i.e. end the session to go into Gnome) without a
hard shut-down.

i appreciate any feedback on the matter. thanks!
