"For every user2 a “home trash” directory MUST be available3. Its name
and location are $XDG_DATA_HOME/Trash ; $XDG_DATA_HOME is the base
directory for user-specific data, as defined in the Desktop Base
Directory Specification ."


>From the (FreeDesktop.org) XDG Base Directory Specification:

"$XDG_DATA_HOME defines the base directory relative to which user
specific data files should be stored. If $XDG_DATA_HOME is either not
set or empty, a default equal to $HOME/.local/share should be used."
