Quit XFCE->send close to all apps

Gentlemen, gentlewomen,

Is it possible to send a 'close' action to all opened 
applications/windows upon quitting xfce(-session)? Maybe even with a 
configurable timeout before killing the <not responding/awaiting input> 
application?

For example: All text-editor applications with unsaved documents will 
ask you to save the document instead of just killing the process and 
losing your work...

Idea for 4.6?
