accessing japanese Windows Server 2003 samba using xffm

Hello, 

I'm trying to access (japanese) Windows Server 2003 samba server from my
Gentoo box using the XFFM (Xfce file manager). 
The problem is that while very bottom window which displays commands
shows everything correctly (japanese file and directory names), left
window which holds the browsing tree displays '????' characters instead
of japanese ones. 

As a result of this, I can copy directory which name consists of roman
letters even if it holds japanese directories inside, but can't copy
japanese dirs directly because commands get generated with file names
from the left (browsing tree) window.

Did anybody encounter this problem ?
