The problem seems to have something to do with having en_GB in
$LANGUAGE.

$ echo $LANGUAGE
da_DK:da:en_GB:en

That's the default on my system.

If I do the followning:
$ killall xfce-mcs-manager;sleep 2;LANGUAGE=da_DK:da:en xfce-mcs-manager
then the problem disappears.
