It is probably the daemon which is very low-cost memory consuming,
and speeds up the time of a Thunar window to appear. There won't be
supplement Thunar instances when you open Thunar windows.
Try the next to see the arguments passed to Thunar:
ps ax|grep -i thunar
> Max
