Just a remark, though: This technique will not work when a compositor is
enabled, because, when using a compositor, windows are redirected, ie
rendered off-screen end get never obscured.... That should not be a
problem for you however, since you have full control on the running
environment, so you can easily prevent the user from running/enabling
the compositor.
