Is there any other mechanism in place by XFCE to
achieve the same? Idea is to localize a user specific
environment and contain any software libraries
installed by the user and at the same time not to
sacrifice the convenience of the graphical user
interface.

I understand this is a different question than mine. I
personally don't see any advantage to using the
"launcher". And there is no option like run in
terminal for file properties that manages
'double-click and open' that I can see.
