mailwatch plugin doesn't turn gray after mail check

Brian, have you considered forcing a mailcheck if the launcher is
used? Perhaps after a short delay. So I see I have new mail, I click
the icon to launch thunderbird, 15 seconds later, mailwatch checks the
mailbox again, and the icon goes grey?
