xfdesktop seems to use GenericName instead of Name in the entries in the.desktop files in all cases. This has led to some silly situations at least here where I've had to choose between "CD Creator" and "CD/DVD Writer". I think xfdesktop would need a way of distinguishing between apps provided by Xfce and those not provided by Xfce, to decide whether it should use GenericName or Name.
