Not quite, actually. The menu file formats are more or less
incompatible. Xfce uses a similar algorithm to implement the part of
the spec that reads and categorises .desktop files for the autogenerated
portion of the menu, but the actual menu files are totally different.
We've talked about doing a 'real' fd.o menu parser/generator, but that's
a ways off. I think Jannis was interested in doing it for 4.6. Benny
had done one for his os-cillation/xfld version of xfdesktop, but I think
he was unhappy with it for some various reasons.
