Cannot start xfce from vnc startup script

Hello Andrew and thanks for your response.

I looked up the docs on xfwm4 and put it in my last line of xstartup as
exec xfwm4
but it didn't run xfce.

FWIW this is the vnc log file which doesn't tell me much:
