I certainly understand your preference. But you know,
evrybody is different. I like my icons on the Desktop,
I like to draw a rectangle with mouse and selecting
multiple files that way (without ctrl + click, etc.).
Just as you like Vim, I don't like neither Vim, nor
emacs, etc, etc. They may be the best things after
sliced bread, but unfortunately I'm not a hacker :).
But at the end of the day, this shouldn't be a big
deal! I certainly appreciate the work people did by
creating XFCE, and also I'm genuinely grateful for it
and the help people provide in this list!

(Now back to bickering :))

Having said that, I claim there are some rough edges,
be it with Xubuntu or XFCE, or both. I reported my
issues, and if they're solvable I'll appreciate it.
Many of my questions are already answered in a very
satisfactory way! I'll keep asking for help and
express what I think when I feel so :). After all,
this is a users mailing list, not developers :).

By the way, you shouldn't require us to first go
elsewhere (Xubuntu forums, etc.) : by hearing about
the problems people experience, you'll have a better
picture of what's going on around. Actually I bring up
some things simply out of curiosity and to show that
there *is* such a usability (perceived?, but sincerely
so) issue on earth, not because I care much about it.
As I said, XFCE is already my preferred *Linux*
Desktop right now, and believe me, after XFCE, I'll
never go back to GNOME or KDE. Not because they are
bad, they're just too bloated for my taste. I'm amazed
how gigantic they are, but I'm also amazed how their
developers aren't bothered with their performance:
probably they only use supercomputers with terrabytes
of RAM??, i simply don't know! (My rants and praise to
XFCE :)).

Cheers,

Nusret
