  Did you check Evolution preferences?  Maybe it lets you execute a
command (as in Sylpheed claws) when new emails arrive.  If you are
really sure you can run a command outside of Evolution to check for new
arrival emails, please ask in IRC at #evolution irc.gimp.net for more
help.
