Another poster in this thread, Rainer, is running the exact same distro
and xfce version:

xfce 4.4 Beta1 (4.3.90.2) and cups in Xubuntu 6.06 LTS

Unless somebody knows there's been a problem with xfprint4 in 4.4beta1,
I guess it has s.th. to do with Xubuntu and the xfce version shipping
with it.

That indeed suggests that there's a problem with xfprint4 in Xubuntu
6.06. The other possibility is that there was a specific problem with
xfprint4 in 4.4beta1 in general, but I wouldn't know since I never had
this particular version installed. Same goes for Xubuntu, I'm using FC4.

One last shot in the dark... Nobody answered my question yet whether one
of you installed xfce on your own (e.g. from source) or just used the
version shipping with Xubuntu. In the first case, make sure all old
(e.g. xfce4.2) components are removed properly, especially when they
were installed under a different prefix.

Sorry, can't think of anything else. Maybe somebody with deeper
knowledge about xfprint4 (Jean-François) can help.

Nick.
