Problem with xfwm4 running remotely on Apple's X servers

Hi,

If I run xfwm4 remotely on Apple's X servers (i.e., X display is on a
Mac, but xfwm4 running on Linux), I get this strange situation where
pressing Tab would cause xfwm4 to bring up the window selection screen
(i.e., as if I pressed Alt-Tab); some other function keys (I forgot
which ones) also behave as if Alt were pressed. Xfwm4 seems to be the
only window manager that is affected; others (I have tried metacity,
blackbox, and openbox) do not seem to be affected.

I am wondering if this looks like a problem with my X setup, and if so
what I should do to correct it.
