Summary: What applications do Xfce users use?

As I said this was unscientific (and wasn't even intended as a formal 
survey). As for Opera, which Liviu brought up, I mentioned in my 
original post, but no one indicated using it. FWIW, I did install it but 
I didn't like its alphabetical ordering of bookmarks (and other minor 
details) so I'm staying with Firefox.

Evolution was only mentioned once as a previously used application and I 
only counted "allegedly" in-use stuff.
