Display size problems in beta2

Hi all.

I played around a bit with the 'Display' settings. At one point, one of
the options wasn't acceptable (black screen, ;-). So I just waited for
the timeout. When 'Display' reverted, it didn't go back to the previous
1024x768, but came up with something like 320x240 or so. And, made it
permanent too (exiting/entering XFCE didn't solve the problem. 

To make things worse, the font went down to 1 point or so (unreadable).
Still, guessing the labels, I could go back and change to 'default' and
then to the correct mode (fonts remained 1 point for the panel - had to
re-exit again).

Apart from that, I'd like to suggest a separate option to switch from
full screen to virtual screen. I don't like virtual screens normally, but
when I'm using a CAD program it _is_ a bonus... 

It'd be even better if I could switch just one desktop to virtual, so I
can dedicate that one to CAD. But maybe that's too much to ask from my
favorite WM? (just kidding)
