Will using KDE programs use too much system resources?

I think it's safe to say that it will save you some.  Of course,
that's a very rough guessitimate and depends on what other programs
you're running.  For a time, I ran Xfce with gnome-panel, and adding
another GNOME program into the mix didn't cost many more resources at
that point.

To sum it all up: YMMV. ;)
