What about showing the panel  when one touches the screen edge with the
panel? Oh... more specific: ...even when NOT explicitly touching the panel?
This seems practical, noone has (probably) a panel 100px wide, unless he has
a screen resolution of 100 by 150.
Oh... this seems to be obligatory now... :)
