error running xfdesktop

When xfdesktop attempts to run, the following line is
output many times to .xsession-errors/stdout.

"*** attempt to put segment in horiz list twice"

I am running on Gentoo Linux:
xfdesktop from xfce4 v4.2.2

gcc = i686-pc-linux-gnu-3.3.5-20050130

kernel = 2.6.11-gentoo-r9

libc = Compiled by GNU CC version 3.3.5  (Gentoo Linux
3.3.5-r1, ssp-3.3.2-3, pie-8.7.7.1).
Compiled on a Linux 2.6.8 system on 2005-03-19.
