Problem loading Xfce-4.2.0 on Slackware-10.1

Olivier,

   Both glib2 and gtk+2 are listed. But, ...

   libglib-2.0.so.0 => /usr/local/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 (0x40595000)

... is part of the problem. The version of libglib-2 in /usr/local/lib is
from 2003 while the version in /usr/lib is from today. Aha!

   Now there's another problem similar to the first one. I suppose that I need
to ensure the proper libs are in both /usr/lib (where the packages installed
them) and /usr/local/lib.

   After this ... the fonts problem.
