how to stop raising gmail window?

I am using gmail in firefox.  I find sometimes the firefox window will
raise automatically and get focus when I am doing other things on
another window.  For example, I click the "Archive" button after I
read an email and change to a Terminal window and typing commands, the
firefox window will jump out when the archive process is done.  How
can I turn off this annoying action?
