something with hostname

Are you using ROX as your file manager?

If so, then you should go to "Options->Compatibility->Drag & Drop",
there you should see a checkbox "Don't use hostname" (or something
similar, as I'm translating this from German "Hostnamen nicht
benutzen"). Activate that setting.

With ROX I had the same problem, but not with xffm.
