Don't know about you, but I'm running xfce4-4.2.0 and there is such a 
feature look under Settings Manager > Window Manager > Keyboard > Window 
Shortcuts

PS. if you bind Alt-1, Alt-2, Alt-3, etc to switch between workspaces 
it's much easier on your fingers.
