I'd say that's a bloody simple and good idea.

However, how about that you, dev's, maintain and publish a table of plugins 
stability. For example for each plugin you could have, per platform on which 
Xfce runs, something like: Unsupported, Unstable/Beta, Mostly Stable (with 
comments), Very Stable, New/Unknown.
This could be based on your own experience and/or users feedback.

I myself wrote plugins and don't think I would be offended if they were said 
unstable. I guess I'd just say: Please tell me more and I'll see what I can 
do... for the money you offer :-)
