Gdk-ERROR with gnucash under xfce4

Following up to myself to clear up a misunderstanding:
The GnuCash people are in fact working on a port to gnome2/gtk2;
it's apparently far along, but not quite finished.

My claim of "reluctance" seems to have based on an old message
I found somewhere, and should not reflect poorly on the
GnuCash developers!
