make maximized windows borderless?

Alt+F11 doesn't do quite what he was thinking of tho'. Alt+F11 makes the
window fullscreen which obscures useful stuff like the panel and the
taskbar. It's not a bit thing, but I'd tend to agree that removing
borders and title bar on fullscreen windows might be a nice addition to
XFCE.
