ok, I'll have to look at this.  One thing I really like about XFCE4 in a 
server envirorment is its "old school" the only time the gui is running 
is when you implicitly call it from the CLI.  Otherwise your in the 
normal CLI which leaves the machine resources for the server where they 
belong!  It's very uncomfortable feeling as its totally foriegn to 
anything I'm used to, BUT thats just a matter of getting used to it.  
But it does get the job done and on a box with only 256mb of ram and a 
p3-600 it doesn't suck up all the system resources!
